My sister is 6 years younger than me and we are chalk and cheese. I am fire and she is water. I do love her and want her to love me, but i can see on her face a lot that she really cant stand me and this hurts me. I am not being paranoid. I feel she comes across as one of those people that look down on others as though her poop don’t stink and is condescending if you know what i mean. She is not very friendly and fun when i am around and it’s uncomfortable. She finds it hard to make friends and i make friends all the time. She cant stand how i am and i get nervous. I have tried to make attempts to resolve stuff several timesand act warmly towards her but she is not interested. She holds grudges and has no forgiveness and it is always others sucking up to her- never her. She is a control freak. And now its like she has snagged her man (who we helped her get together with, who is my husbands mate and was one of his groomsmen and they go way back) she has no more to do with me. I feel used. It was my advice that she came and received that actually won him over as she was playing games with his best mate who was falling in love with her and she knew it…this did not make her now fiance have much respect for her now would it?? They got engaged Christmas eve last year and now getting married in 3 days. SHOT GUN WEDDING IF EVER THERE WAS ONE. She has just invited me out of obligation and has made it clear she is not interested in resolving things before her day. i have had sleepless nights and much anxiety over this and she doesn’t seem to care at all. i really don’t want to go. it will be uncomfortable for both of us. Why would i go when she hates me so?? i admit i am sensitive okay but it hurts a lot to be continually rejected. She has made the wedding on a school day and invited no children. (i found this out when i received the invite in the mail – no one told me so i was shocked to learn this!) she invited our half sisters and not even my kids, her own nieces and nephews. I was told from my mother that she was warned that if she doesn’t invite our children that it would cause problems. it did. i received the invite and our kids were left off. she has no kids. my mum told me to take it up with her. i did. she didn’t like it. i told her i was offended that she would invite our half sisters and ex step mum and not her own sisters kids. i told her that i had already told my kids that they would have a day off school to go to her wedding as i presumed the kids would attend. who gets married on a wednesday?? . but of course we would attend cause it’s up to them right?? anyway that’s how it all escalated. it turns out that my other sibling and step siblings agreed that the kids would like to attend and they could relax with the rest of the family and enjoy the reception and not need to rush back an hours drive to pick up kids from school. But she hates me for it and i pathed the way for them.So, you see, i have a dysfunctional family for starters. I feel at peace that i have decided i will not attend. i thought a great deal about it.I feel i have extended the olive branch two times just this week and we have tried in the past but you see, it takes two to tango. i can not act like others can. i would rather not go so she can have her time as centre of attention. I think that’s why she has manipulated things so i don’t go.
